Your Skills

The person in this role will be responsible for the procurement supply chain, from engineering specifications and programmatic needs to procurement requests, through requests for proposals campaign coordination including supplier selection, suppliers’ discussions, and negotiations, to regular subcontractor management including design and delivery reviews. This role is key to our mission: management of supply chains ensures successful development and market success of low-cost, next-generation robotic arms. It would be advantageous to have strong technical engineering background and experience within Space or Aerospace industry. It is essential that you are attentive to details and have experience completing procedures and processes with precision. You must be well-organised and able to switch rapidly between tasks. The ideal candidate  understands how space standards add value to the engineering lifecycle, has experience handling specifications and turning them into win-win design descriptions in close interaction with suppliers, is sensible to cost variations and finds the best solution combining high quality, on-time delivery and on-budget design, and is comfortable liaising professionally with vendors, suppliers, and other external companies - you must be proactive and enjoy external interactions with others.

Responsibilities

 

  • Collect specifications, technical and programmatic, from project management and engineering teams to define items to be procured, and prioritize the supply activities 

  • Liaise with Operations Manager to handle procurement requests in the company database 

  • Constantly look out for new suppliers and populate the internal vendor database 

  • Liaise with Legal to establish necessary Non-Disclosure Agreements with new suppliers 

  • Set up, run, and coordinate Request for Proposal (RFP) campaigns, in close coordination with the engineering teams

  • Collect proposals and run evaluation process to select the right supplier 

  • Preselect subcontractors/suppliers 

  • Lead discussions with suppliers on finding the best solution in terms of design, schedule, and costs, in close coordination with the engineering teams 

  • Lead price and contract negotiations 

  • Manage relationships & subcontractor development 

  • Negotiate contractual conditions, with support from Head of Programs and Legal 

  • Establish main reviews, including documents to be delivered by Subcontractor, and lead reviews 

  • Apply Product and Quality Assurance processes to all workflows 

  • Manage and maintain inventory database, ensuring component availability and use 

  • Maintain a professional and partner-oriented relationship with the supplier along the contract time by establishing an intimate knowledge of the supplier’s constraints and challenges 

  • Manage commercial and institutional procurements within the customer driven requirements 

  • Identify opportunities for long term agreements 

  • Regularly report on status and progress of procurements 

  • Attend conferences and events with aerospace suppliers, create and maintain relationships and partnerships.

 

Skills & Requirements

 

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in engineering, mechatronics, electronics, robotics, or aerospace related field  

  • Experience (minimum 5 years) with purchasing, procurement, inventory, and data management (for e.g., SAP) 

  • Experience working with European aerospace and technology suppliers 

  • Must be willing to relocate to work full time at Luxembourg office location

  • Demonstrated experience in procurement and management of complex subcontracts

  • Experience in electronics engineering (preferably space electronics) 

  • Understanding of Product Assurance and Quality Assurance needs 

  • Strong professional communication skills 

  • Pro-active behaviour, creative attitude to find win-win solutions, and structured working 

  • Rigorous approach to the evaluation of subcontractors’ documents 

  • Fluency in English, and excellent written, spoken, and interpersonal skills 

  • Fluency in German and/or French are strong assets.
