The New Role:
​
As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Lead Facilities Engineer to join us. You will lead our varied design and drafting work across civil, structural and mechanical projects as well as put in place the best engineering standards and processes for our world class facility.
​
What you’ll be doing:
​
Reporting to GM Arnhem Space Centre & Engineering and working closely with Site Operations and Construction, you’ll lead the engineering design for the ongoing development of ELA’s Arnhem Space Centre. You will work closely with the Launch Team to understand requirements and ensure seamless facilities support for Launch Operations. You will also prepare scoping and specifications documentation for external engineering providers, develop ELA’s facilities engineering standards, processes, and capabilities and provide SME engineering discipline support across the business. All of this integral to support the development process for Arnhem Space Centre’s Phase 2 Master Plan.
What we are looking for:

Broad knowledge of design and development requirements for remote infrastructure and facilities.

Degree qualified in relevant Engineering discipline (eg. Civil, Mechanical or Chemical).

Chartered Professional Engineer or eligibility to apply.

+15 years in heavy engineering, oil & gas, defence or similar.

You don’t know the phrase “that’s not my job” and are a real “can do “ person. You’re fun and casual but very good at what you do.

You will be hardworking and a team player, looking to become part of a vibrant and supportive team.

You are comfortable engaging with people both internally and externally and will have a strong technical grounding to support hitting the ground running as well as the opportunity for further growth in your career.

Equatorial Launch Australia (ELA) owns and operates the Arnhem Space Centre (ASC), a multi-user commercial spaceport in East Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory, Australia at 12° S. For our first space launches, ELA were contracted by NASA to launch Australia’s first commercial rockets to space from our site in June and July 2022.
